چکیده

Background: Aplastic anemia (AA) is a disease in which the bone marrow (BM) and hematopoietic stem cells are damaged causing pancytopenia. It may be hereditary or acquired it can range from mild to severe. Interleukin-8 (IL-8) chemokine that critical for tissue damage acute inflammation has been shown potent inhibitors of myelopoiesis. Interleukin promotes macrophages produce IL-8 AA. The aim present work was evaluate level patients with AA its correlation severity disease. Methods: study conducted on 40 individuals, 30 newly diagnosed 10 healthy subjects served as control. They classified group I (8 very severe 20%), II (16 40%), III (6 non-severe 15%) IV (10 apparently individuals control). All groups were subjected complete blood count (CBC), BM aspiration biopsy only, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), measuring serum by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results: Serum levels significantly higher at diagnosis when compared normal controls. A significant negative found between Hb level, platelets count, neutrophil reticulocyte cellularity, also positive ESR.Conclusion: Level than patients, suggested involved mechanisms hence correlates progression.

Correlation between serum interleukin-31 level and the severity of disease in children with atopic dermatitis

INTRODUCTION Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease, characterized by intense itch, typical localization and a specific image of skin lesions. Pathogenesis of pruritus in AD is not fully understood, but recent studies emphasize the role of interleukin-31 (IL-31). This relatively recently described cytokine is considered to be a potential mediator inducing pruritus in AD. ...

The Role of Serum Level of Interleukin-6 in Severity of Pulmonary Complications of Sulfur Mustard Injuries

Diverse studies suggest that interleukin-6 (IL6), as a member of cytokines family, has a major role in inflammatory processes of airways and lungs. In this study, an attempt was made to determine the serum level of IL6 in sulfur mustard (SM) injured patients and its comparison with controls. The measured IL6 mean level in patients with chemical injuries (0.76±0.3 ng/ml) was significantly higher...

ALLOGENIC BONE MARROW TRANSPLANTATION IN APLASTIC ANEMIA

Eighteen patients, twelve men and six women, with aplastic anemia underwent allogenic bone marrow transplantation (BMT) from HLA-matched siblings during the period of 1990 to 1996. The conditioning regimen was cyclophosphamide with or without busulfan, depending on the cause of aplasia. Antilymphocyte globulin (ALG) and cyclosporine were used for rejection and acute GVHD prophylaxis, respe...

Effects of recombinant human interleukin-3 in aplastic anemia.

In a phase I/II study, nine patients with aplastic anemia were treated with recombinant human interleukin-3 (rhIL-3) to assess the toxicity and biologic effects of this multipotential hematopoietic growth factor. Doses ranging from 250 micrograms/m2 to 500 micrograms/m2 were administered as subcutaneous bolus injections daily for 15 days. An increase in platelet counts from 1,000/microL to 31,0...
